Duck Hall Art is the home of professional artist Denise H Webb. My love of art began at age six when my painting Rain was exhibited at the Royal Academy of Art.
Through a challenging and abusive childhood, creativity became my anchor.
Following my work as a professional photographer working across Europe, I joined Hepworth Art Society, reigniting my urge to paint, which lead to art exhibitions and worldwide sales.
My work explores how new life and past history come together. I look to flowers as symbols of renewal, capturing vibrant blooms in traditional vases, nostalgic vintage containers or vibrant landscapes. Vintage containers bridge yesterday and today, bringing warm personal memories of the past.
Working across oils, acrylics, watercolours, charcoal, and pastels, I create colourful pieces designed to transform past challenges into life-affirming light. For me, art is a restorative presence—bringing warmth, history, and pure joy into contemporary spaces.

Central to my work is the conviction that art possesses a quiet, transformative power—one capable of shifting the mood of a space and offering sanctuary to the viewer.
Core Themes & Concepts Nostalgia & Domestic Comfort:
A signature element of my floral paintings is pairing organic, vibrant botanicals with cherished, unexpected containers—such as vintage Bisto, Cadbury, and Oxo tins. These pairings bridge fine art and fond memories, turning everyday objects into comfort and family heritage.
Resilience & Restoration:
Rooted in my experience of overcoming childhood trauma, my art focuses on renewal. Flowers serve as the ultimate symbol of resilience—blooming fearlessly in colourful hues. Painting them transforms past adversity into life-affirming light.
Nature-Led Vitality:
Whether capturing cut flowers in vintage vessels, vases, or gentle landscapes, my work celebrates nature through rich colours designed to bring beautiful centrepieces and talking points to neutral, modern interiors.
Materials & Mediums:
I work across a range of mediums, choosing them for specific expressive qualities: Oils and Acrylics are used to build thick, expressive textures (impasto) and bold, saturated colours with palette knives and rich brushwork. Watercolours, Charcoal & Pastels are used for their soft, delicate transitions and atmospheric washes when capturing subtle natural light and form.

My inspiratiion are impressionists and post-impressionist artists, who prioritised raw colours, light and emotional resonance over strict realism.
Quiet living landscapes and the beauty of colourful gardens, seasonal flowers and open countryside directly influence my colour harmony and movement.
Mid-Century nostalgic and vintage designs. classic kitchen items, vintage packaging and antique tinware inspire playful, story-filled compositions.

I want viewers and collectors to step away from the noise of daily life and feel an immediate sense of emotional uplift. My goal is to evoke a sudden spark of joy, a quiet moment of sanctuary or a comforting memory of past times. Ultimately, I want viewers and collectors to feel that the room has grown a little warmer, brighter and deeply welcoming.
